Our lightweight SnowDrifter Jacket combines recycled, 3-layer stretch fabric with a minimalist design for H2No® Performance Standard protection in even the stormiest conditions and breathable, unrestrictive performance on the skintrack. Fabric, membrane and DWR finish are made without perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs/PFAS). Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.

• Light and stretchy 3-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabric is waterproof and breathable, with a soft polyester knit interior backer to manage moisture and a durable water repellent (DWR) finish; fabric, membrane and DWR finish are made without perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs/PFAS)

• Helmet-compatible, fixed hood easily adjusts with an embedded cord-lock system, while a laminated visor preserves visibility in bad conditions

• Two zippered handwarmer pockets, one zippered chest pocket with cable routing and internal access, one zippered bicep pocket for a pass, and one interior drop-in pocket

• Pit zips quickly release heat; adjustable, low-profile cuffs secure over or under gloves

• Adjustable powder skirt can be cinched for a tight seal or lies flat when not in use

• Concealed RECCO® reflector allows rescuers to use a directional signal to determine the reflector’s location

Recycled Polyester

An important fiber in Patagonia's line, polyester allows them to build lightweight materials that dry quickly and can be used in a variety of applications, including trail-running tops and yoga tights. Polyester also blends well with natural fabrics like cotton. But virgin polyester is derived from petroleum, which comes at a high environmental cost.

Fluorinated DWR

Fluorinated DWR finish is a functional chemical coating containing PFCs (short for perfluorocarbons) that the outdoor industry has long relied on to make garments water-resistant. But, they’re nonbiodegradable chemicals with an environmental cost. PFCs are extremely effective at repelling water, but because of their impact, Patagonia is in the process of making all of their membranes and water-repellent finishes without PFCs or PFAS by 2025.

Made without PFAS / PFC

Water repellency doesn’t just keep you comfortable, it keeps you alive. But for decades now, the coatings used in apparel to improve water-repellency have relied on per- or polyfluorinated chemicals, which contain fluorine and are most often referred to by their acronyms: PFCs, PFOAs or PFAS. This class of “forever chemicals” accumulates in air, water, food and even our bodies, and they raise serious health concerns, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Patagonia is converting all of their durable water-repellent membranes and finishes to non-fluorinated alternatives by 2025.
