• Insulated with warm 600-fill-power Recycled Down (duck and goose down reclaimed from down products)

• Full-length, center-front, two-way Vision® zipper with a covered placket that secures with metal snaps for wind protection and optimal warmth

• Removable, insulated hood with hidden adjustment cords that cinch down for protective warmth

Fluorinated DWR

Fluorinated DWR finish is a functional chemical coating containing PFCs (short for perfluorocarbons) that the outdoor industry has long relied on to make garments water-resistant. But, they’re nonbiodegradable chemicals with an environmental cost. PFCs are extremely effective at repelling water, but because of their impact, Patagonia is in the process of making all of their membranes and water-repellent finishes without PFCs or PFAS by 2025.

Made without PFAS / PFC

Water repellency doesn’t just keep you comfortable, it keeps you alive. But for decades now, the coatings used in apparel to improve water-repellency have relied on per- or polyfluorinated chemicals, which contain fluorine and are most often referred to by their acronyms: PFCs, PFOAs or PFAS. This class of “forever chemicals” accumulates in air, water, food and even our bodies, and they raise serious health concerns, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Patagonia is converting all of their durable water-repellent membranes and finishes to non-fluorinated alternatives by 2025.
