Description:

The Micro Puff® Hoody combines ultralight Pertex® Quantum shell fabric with PlumaFill insulation, and the result is the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any jacket we’ve ever created and the highest compressibility of any of our synthetic jackets. It's your go-to insulation piece for mixed (and possibly miserable) cold conditions. The shell fabric is built with NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop made from recycled fishing nets, and the insulation is 100% recycled polyester. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.

Specs & Features:

• Ultralight, windproof Pertex® Quantum shell built of NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop made from recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution; with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs/PFAS)

• Revolutionary lightweight PlumaFill insulation replicates the structure of down in a continuous synthetic insulation material, offering the warmth and packability of down but with the warm-when-wet performance of synthetic insulation

• Innovative quilting construction complements the insulation by stabilizing and maximizing the loft of the PlumaFill strands with minimal stitching

• Center-front zipper has a storm flap for warmth and a zipper garage at the chin for next-to-skin comfort; hoody is patterned for high mobility, with a backpack- and harness-compatible fit

• Two welted, zippered handwarmer pockets and two internal drop-in pockets; left pocket doubles as a stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop

• Under-the-helmet hood construction is light and simple

• Elasticized cuffs and an adjustable hem seal in warmth; made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory, which means the people who made this product earned a premium for their labor

Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.

Fair Trade Certified™

An ever-growing number of our products are Fair Trade Certified™ for sewing, which means we pay a premium to the workers in the factories that make them. The Fair Trade program also helps to create better working conditions and safeguards against the use of child labor.

Recycled Nylon

Nylon is one of the strongest plastics we use in our products. When we need a super-lightweight fabric, nylon is vital for its strength. But nylon is a petroleum-based material, and producing it has a high cost in energy and greenhouse gases. Incorporating as much recycled nylon as we can lessens our dependence on virgin petroleum as a raw material source, helps eliminate discarded material and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing.

NetPlus® Recycled Fishing Nets

Old, frayed and torn fishing nets are discarded partly because of a lack of end-of-life solutions. Bureo®, a company based in California, is trying to fix this and to provide a responsible alternative to virgin plastics by working directly with fishing communities in South America.

Recycled Polyester

An important fiber in Patagonia's line, polyester allows them to build lightweight materials that dry quickly and can be used in a variety of applications, including trail-running tops and yoga tights. Polyester also blends well with natural fabrics like cotton. But virgin polyester is derived from petroleum, which comes at a high environmental cost.
